Match Point in Taylor Joelle Designs
Tennis is the perfect sport to play with your BFF… are we right?
We got these adorable skirts from Taylor Joelle Designs as well as the opportunity to collaborate on a blog post! For these skirts we wanted to style them differently than they had been styled before. Tiffany the girls and I worked together in coming up with this super cute 80’s tennis editorial inspired shoot. We went for the adidas socks and shoes to give it the amazing 80’s fashion feel. Khia wore a cute visor we got from the party store and Vandy in this pink sweat band from the sporting goods store. We needed some tennis rackets obviously so we found some plastic ones in the easter section and spray painted them gold! The skirts from Taylor Joelle are so comfy and made to perfection. Usually with tutu type skirts can be very uncomfortable but Taylor Joelle skirts are lined with a soft cotton layer underneath. The girls loved them and have worn them for several different events. If you head over to the Taylor Joelle website you’ll find they also have stuff for little girls and BOYS!!!!
We were also asked by Taylor Joelle Design to answer some fashion questions for their blog feature and thought we would share them here!!!
What made you want to start Were So Fancy?
We started We’re So Fancy because Tiffany and I have discovered the difficulties in finding cute tween fashion. It seems that girl clothes are all to cutsie for little little girls or they are to revealing or adult like for teenage girls. We found there really isn’t an inbetween. Being a tween is difficult because you don’t really know where you fit in. The blog was created to give inspiration and details on some of the best places to shop for tween girls.
What trends do you see for spring 2015?
For 2015 we see some of the same street trends. Bloggers seems to be making the trends and taking bits and pieces from runways and making it their own. For spring we think there will be shredded denim. Athletic shoes with skirts and dresses. Wrap jackets, shawls and fringe. And crossover bags and different styled hats for accessories.
Where do you get your fashion inspiration?
We get a lot of our fashion inspiration from celebrities and other fashion bloggers. While it is difficult to find a lot of the items in the girls sizes we do our best and sometimes even make things ourselves. We want to be able to take the trends and pieces we see on fashion bloggers and celebrities and make them tween friendly and be innovative for this niche market.
What advice would you give to parents shopping for their children and tweens?
The advice we would give to parents of tweens first is be open to other options. We know everyones first reaction when shopping is to head to justice, but we have found that searching online and shopping at online boutiques is key to finding those memorable pieces. Shopping for your tween is difficult and we get it:) We hope that by following the blog we will be able to give you leads and links to finding the cutest and most up to date trends. Also look for DIY videos and blog posts! There is a lot of bloggers we have learned from, whether its braids or making flower crowns! For tween it is awesome be open to trying new things and don’t be afraid to start trends yourself! This time in your life is about finding yourself:) We want to inspire you to step out of your comfort zone and see what makes you comfortable. Everyone deserves to have style, so use what you have and make it your own!
